PROLOGUE
Pirates are very common in the Sea of Scarlett.
With its border touching 14 territories of the Western Empire as well as a large portion of the Baalgor Wastelands, Old Kingdom, and even the Yin-Sloth jungle, it is ideal for pirates to thrive, and to fall.
Many claims there are countless unexplored islands near the approximately 10,000 miles long coast all around the Sea of Scarlett, but also within it.
Navigating anywhere further than 100 miles away from its border is considered a peril for everyone, merchants and pirates both. Many claims there is another kingdom or continent in the center, some 400 miles South-East of Golfax, but rumors are hard to confirm because monsters and magic allegedly protects the kingdom from outsiders.
In a small village called Borskell, known for its slave trade and for its huge dock to facilitate loading and unloading ships, a Nobleman has been rumored to be looking for a few mercenaries of all branches; archers, wizards, fighters, etc, with a minimum of sailing skills to join his crew for a long voyage, estimated to last 6 months. He offered 100 gold to join his crew as a starting bonus, shelter, food and booze during the trip, and 1000 Gold at the end of the journey for every member of his crew who will survive until they return to Borskell.
And so, being poor and looking for a job, or for adventure, or maybe just for a place to sleep eat and drink booze, many young mercenaries, adventurers, scholars and more, decided to join his crew.
