They fought the bandits, but called for a stop and the bandits responded. Everyone stopped fighting a moment later and they had a talk.
They notice the bandits were all females, except for a few males, that were obviously slaves.
Don managed to convince the Bandits that they were looking for a cursed item (The Egg) and while talking, he used his Hypnotic Suggestion on the Leader of the Bandits.
The Bandit Leader had a rat familiar with her, they assumed was a Demon, making her a Witch.
With his words and a second Hypnotic Suggestion, Don was able to convince the Bandit Leader to trade the Egg for 1,000 GP and they left right away, running fast to make sure no one followed.
They went back to the city of Gowhell and talk to Narkhgiit. He offered for them to escort him back to the Western empire, where they would be compensated more than well for returning the egg with him, and he would also teach Urzol the art of Weapon Mastery. But as they concluded the deal and walked out from the Inn's back storage room, they met Malak and his guards, whom somehow knew where to find them.
They all surrendered, except Don. He managed to jet the fuck out.
Malak brought them back to Weldigo, where he offered them a deal, to help him, instead of being executed for their heresy and defiance.
He asked them to infiltrate and recover The Heart of Modeus, from a nearby cult.
They had not much choice and signed a binding, deathly, magical contract.
They went back to Gowhell in hope to find Don.
Some trouble occured when Urzol decided to be annoying with the gate guards and they were attacked, and probably won't be able to get back in if any of the dozen guards that saw they that day were to recognize them again later.
As they moved away from the gate, Don came to meet with them a little later.
They talked about a plan, the contract with Malak, and what they were to do. So they went to the marsh and the cave, to find the cultists.
They went in the cave, talked with a human man giving him some bullshit as planned, and he allowed them to stay in the cave entrance for shelter from the Imperial Inquisition (Malak).
Urzol decided to Commune with Spirit and met 4 ghosts, stuck in the cave.
He learned that the cultists were in fact Priests of Light - of Ra, the Sun God, and that the ghosts were kept at bay from entering the ruins of the Yuan-Ti temple, where Halethe - a Priestess of Ra, was staying.
They deduced the Cult wasn't a pack of Witches and Demon followers as Malak had led them to believe. Did Malak know, or was he missled?
