A Mission to bring back a traitor
Mithran, Vumpek and Ragnarok were sent on a special mission to capture and bring back a member of the Red Gates who defected to Khalahan and possibly joined the Maleekym in Khalahan.
After gearing up, the trio used the blue ticket Rakhell provided to them and entered Khalahan through the West Gate.
Constable Ryan in Barranor barely looked at the ticket and allowed them in. The Constable on the other side noticed the trio and didn’t recognise them, so he asked them to come closer. He asked their names and started adding them to his ledger.
Mithran asked about the Khalahan status and if he could be an Important Visitor, suggestively offering some gold.
The Constable smirked and explained he could even be a Citizen, given the proper motivation.
Mithran paid 50 gold and was given the name Kaylor The Commoner and address in Khalahan, an address he should avoid ever going to close too if he’d want to properly use the name in question, but could still use as his name.
The trio then spent some time closing in on the last know location where Varinick was found and they noticed territorial marks related to the Maleekym, confirming the area, belongs to them.
They approached the house where Varinick was and they saw someone was in there. Mithran hatched a quick plan to disguise as a little boy and tried knocking at the door, with Ragnarock behind him, but the person inside didn’t open the door and Mithran heard a second person was inside.
Mithran and Raganrock tried to sell their lie of a little kid in trouble, but it didn’t work.
Mithran went to the back door and picked the lock to enter from there, with Vumpek behind him, while Ragnarock stayed in the front to block a possible escape. A wise decision.
As Mithran was entering through the back, Varinick tried to escape from the front with one of his accomplices.
A combat took place in the house and outside in the street as Varinick and his accomplice tried to flee and fight.
Although Vumpek and Ragnarock felt a brush with death, nearly getting killed by the two well experienced rogues, working well as a team and through a few well-made decisions, they managed to neutralise Varinick and his accomplice.
The arrival of two constables prevented them from getting their hands on the accomplice, but they had Varinick alive.
They hid in an alley, licking their wounds and patching them up while resting for a while before they went back to the West gate and paid the same Constable who took Mithran’s money for a fake identity, so that he would open the West gate for 100 Gold.
Flauhg was then found and arrived a few minutes later to get the payment and allow the opening of the gate. He asked their names, but didn’t harass them further.
The trio made it back safely to the Red Gates’s hideout with Varinick.
